Presented here is an outstanding example of a Babe Ruth signed letter, from 1930 on BABE RUTH NEW YORK stationary.
The New York Yankee icon is reaching out to a fan about his new role writing about baseball for THE NEW YORK EVENING JOURNAL newspaper and requests their patronage.
In an era when baseball and print media were king, especially in the New York City metro area, this was significant news and the EVENING JOURNAL recruitment of Ruth enhanced their stature significantly.
Babe was still in the prime of his career as a Yankees slugger, so moonlighting as sportwriter was an interesting side job!
Ruth's classic penmanship is on full display here in this letter, beautifully authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA. A really special Babe Ruth example on a unique letter capturing 1930 Americana!
The original envelope from the letter is included in a protective sleeve, but not encapsulated.
