These die-cut standees were created as countertop ads for D&M's "Old Reliable" baseball gloves. Three different endorsers (Fonseca, Critz and Collins) are pictured on their own signs, each endorsing a different model glove from the maker's line. The signs vary a bit in size, depending upon the sizing of their die-cut extensions, but their octagonally shaped text areas are all 10" wide and 7" tall. All three of the signs were originally mounted with a nail, rather than using their still-unfolded easel back stands. (The Fonseca example has two nail holes.) The sign featuring Hugh Critz displays some light crazing in the white paints, a small chip off of the heel of his extended foot, and some minor foxing. The "Lew" Fonseca sign demonstrates that same crazing in a small spot on one leg, chips off of his cap's bill and crown, some edge chipping of the text area, and heavy foxing along the sign's lower zones. Finally, the Pat Collins sign displays moderate foxing and very minor edge wear. These three very unusual ad pieces all appear to be from 1930, and grade approx. VG-EX. All three have been framed to overall dimensions of 19" x 20 1/2".
