Beautiful 1930's House of David game worn baseball uniform, both jersey and pants. The House of David was a famous barnstorming baseball team which toured rural America from the 1920s through the 1950s, playing both amateur and semi-pro teams in exhibition games. Needing more skilled players, the House began hiring professionals in the late 1920's. Hall of Fame pitchers Grover Cleveland Alexander, Satchel Paige, and Mordecai Brown were some of the more famous professionals to play with the team. Some pros would grow their own beards while others would wear false beards. As years went by the House of David played against major league, minor league, and Negro League teams. Gray, heavy wool, jersey with blue pinstripes and blue trim on collar and sleeves. Sleeves are short. Blue House of David logo on left chest area. White buttons look to be all original. "92" sewn on tag in collar. Jersey displays good use and displays beautifully. Heavy wool gray pants with blue pin stripes appear to have been shortened at the bottom. Silver metal buttons look to be original. "92" sewn on tag in back of waistband. Pants have slit for sliding belt through. Pants overall in very nice condition. Awesome full House of David uniform!

Includes a Letter of Provenance from the Helms Athletic Foundation/LA84 Collection.
