Two-time US Olympian Helen Wainwright features prominently in this 1928 Lucky Strike trolly car advertising panel. Wainwright won a silver medal in diving at the 1920 Olympics at just 14 years old, and then won her second silver for free-style swimming at the 1924 Games. Following her second Olympics, Wainwright toured the country with a traveling swimming show, further cementing her reputation as the most well-known competitive swimmer and diver of the 1920s. This 10”x20” trolly car ad panel depicts Wainwright diving into a pool of deep blue water, alongside the iconic Lucky Strike bullseye logo. The panel shows only slight wear and toning from age. The colors retain their original brilliance which is further enhanced by this piece’s professional matting and framing.
