Not many players can boast of having hit over .400, but Harry Heilman is one of them. The Tigers slugger reached that exalted plateau in 1923 and had almost done it again in 1927 when he hit .398 to lead the American League in batting average. With a pedigree like that, there is no question why Lucky Strike chose Heilmann as one of the five star ballplayers to be featured in their 1928 trolley car ad campaign. This dramatic trolley car ad shows the leading AL hitter in a classic batting pose set before the famous Lucky Strike logo. As with the other four players in the series, Harry Heilmann’s 1928 Lucky Strike trolley ad remains one of the most striking examples of baseball advertising art of all-time. This unrestored example shows some minor surface wear and scuffing along the left edge. The colors remain brilliant, and the professional matting and framing in UV glass enhances the visual impact of this impressive piece. Presents MINT!
