Incredible 1927 World Series (New York Yankees vs. Pittsburgh Pirates) game used baseball from a game at Forbes Field signed by nine including give members of the Baseball Hall of Fame. New York Yankees signatures are Babe Ruth (sweet spot), Lou Gehrig, Tony Lazzeri. Pittsburgh Pirates signatures are Paul Waner, Lloyd Waner, Vic Aldridge, Heinie Groh, Ray Kremer. Also on the ball is famous baseball clown Al Schacht. The ball has darkened over the years with signatures, all readable, ranging from 2-6/10. Hall of Famers are Ruth (4-5/10), Gehrig (4/10), Lazzeri (2-3/10), P. Waner (5/10), and L. Waner (3-4/10).

As the detailed letter of provenance attests, the consignor inherited the ball from his late father, who had received it many years before from his dentist as a graduation gift. The dentist's father had close connections with the Pirates organization that allowed him to be in the dugout for home games at Forbes Field. During one of the World Series games (the consignor is not sure which one), he was handed a ball that was used in the game and had several Pirate players sign it. He then walked over to the Yankees dugout and personally obtained the autographs of Ruth, Gehrig and Lazzeri. If only this ball could talk.

Letter of Provenance detailing the ball's history, from the Pirates dugout during the 1927 World Series to the consignor's possession. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
