Presented here is an authentic 1927 sterling silver and 10k gold belt buckle presented to New Orleans Pelicans baseball club star player Pinky Whitney. The Pelicans won the Southern Association Championship in 1927 while third basemen Whitney led the team with a .336 batting average. Whitney left the Pelicans for his Major League career the following year with the Phillies where his career totals were .295/.343/.415. The buckle is made of sterling silver with the name "WHITNEY" surrounding a mounted 10k gold baseball and bats. The year "1927" and "BBC" (Baseball Club) is also engraved on the baseball. The buckle, made by Hausmann Jewelers is stamped "HAUSMANN STERLING" on the rear. Weight: 23g. Size: 1.25"x2.5".
