Offered here is an exquisite third place winner's bronze Medal from the 1924 Paris Summer Olympics. Only 304 bronze medals were struck for these Games (same number of gold and silver), making it a tremendous opportunity to be able to acquire one at auction, let alone one in such outstanding condition. Team USA dominated the medal count with 99 total (45 gold, 27 silver & 27 bronze). Finland was a distant second at 37 total (14/13/10), respectively. The recipient and event of this bronze are unknown.

Designed by André Rivaud and minted by Paris Mint, it weighs 74 grams and measures 55 mm in diameter and 3 mm thick. The obverse shows a winning athlete helping a fallen athlete to stand, with “A.RIVAUD” engraved next to Olympic rings below. The reverse shows an array of sporting equipment surrounding “VIIIeme OLYMPIADE PARIS 1924”. Stamped on edge is "Bronze" to denote its internal composition. The rich color on the medal remains naturally elegant with no signs of oxidation. All fine points of the releif design display wonderfully. One of the better exemplars you will find in the hobby.
