1920 Type I Original News Service Photograph of Babe Ruth taken early on in his first spring training with the club at Jacksonville, Florida, the very start of his New York Yankee career. Large "Underwood & Underwood" copyright stamp on back. Original paper caption on back dated 3/4/20 reads - "BABE RUTH REVEALING HIS BATTING SECRETS TO PING BODIE". Paragraph below gives further details, like "Ruth donned a New York uniform following his sale by the Boston Red Sox for the reported sum of $120,000" and states that Ruth's "salary is stated to be $20,000 a year". Raised lettering at both top and bottom read "File Copy Do Not Remove". 7 1/8" by 9 1/2" photo in pretty good condition with a small 1/4" tear at bottom edge, and a few light creases. Full LOA from PSA certifying the photo as a 1920 Type I Original News Service Photograph.
