Good looking 1919-21 W514 card of Black Sox pitcher Lefty Williams features bright color with perfect picture registration. Williams started 3 games for the 1919 American League Champion Chicago White Sox and lost all 3, including the final deciding game.(In Game 8 Williams started, gave up 4 runs in 1/3 of an inning before being pulled in a 10-5 loss) Fellow conspirator Eddie Cicotte accounted for the other 2 losses. Williams reportedly received $5,000 from gamblers for his efforts. Crease free card with rounding on the corners. Angle cut on the left side otherwise well centered. Decent card of one of the key conspirators from the time of the scandal.
