Outstanding original Culver Pictures Archive photo of the World Champion Boston Red Sox, featuring a very young babe Ruth. Ruth is pictured front and center, sitting right to the left of the bat boy. "Red Sox 1916", written on original negative, at upper left corner. Razor sharp image captures the moment beautifully. Ruth pitched one game in the Series, a 14 inning complete game 2-1 victory over Brooklyn in Game 2. Back is stamped "Boston red Sox playing for the World's Championship Oct. 7, 1916". "Culver Pictures, Inc. 660 First Avenue New York 16 N. Y." stamp also present along with a short paragraph stating "This picture is loaned for one reproduction only. Must not be used for advertising without written permission. Original must be returned within 30 days." 5" by 7" missing bottom 2 corners plus some of lower right edge. Small 1/4" by 1/2" area of surface paper loss at bottom center edge. Small diagonal at upper left corner missing surface paper. Very few creases, none of which break the top paper surface. Should display nicely when professionally framed and matted.
