Lesser condition 1916 World Series program for the games played at relatively new Ebbets Field between the Brooklyn Dodgers and the visiting Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox took 4 of 5 to capture the World Series with a young hurler named Babe Ruth, winner of 23 games during the regular season, pitching a 14 inning 2-1 complete game victory in Game 2. Inside of unscored program has photographs of both teams plus a few players as well as several interesting period ads. The Red Sox program has a very young babe Ruth sitting right at the center. Both front and back covers are detached. Program has about a 2" tear at the right side of front cover that goes all the way down to back cover with some pages worse than others. Some staining to both front and back covers, as well as all the pages in between. Rough condition but a very important piece of World Series history.

Includes a Letter of Provenance from the Helms Athletic Foundation/LA84 Collection.
