Presented here is an extraordinary oversized pennant from one of the most famous baseball tours of the 20th century. Hall of Fame manager John McGraw and White Sox owner Charles Comiskey huddled up to engineer a post-season tour of the Far East that became the template for major leaguers touring the globe for a century. The incredible 40-inch pennant is of the highest quality thick felt construction and despite its 101 years remains in an absolutely stunning Ex-Mt condition, with double embroidery and beautiful two-tone felt, with no rips, tears, moth holes or restoration, tassels present and intact and the delicate stitching around the purple panels, trim and lettering is without fraying. Only two tiny holes are visible and a similarly tiny nick out of the purple trim, and only one of the holes extends all the way through the pennant. The pennants boisterous purple color and subdued cream background match precisely to McGraw’s World Tour uniforms and this specimen is one of only a handful to have surfaced in the hobby over the past 20 years.
