One of the most eclectic and desirable PCL issues among hobbyists is the very scarce series of team cards by Bishop & Company produced in 1910. Cataloged as E221, the unnumbered set of five known teams printed on thin paper stock includes Los Angeles, Oakland, Portland, San Francisco, and Vernon. Sacramento is only team in the league of the period not represented.  Blanked backed cards feature horizontal team images in panoramic format with color backgrounds found in red, blue, yellow, purple or green variations.

Presented here is a newly discovered example of the exceedingly rare 1910 E221 Bishop & Company card featuring the Oakland Club of the Pacific Coast League. The eye-catching item, which showcases a black-and-white team photo with a sky blue background, and team members identified in a caption at the right side, measures 10" x 2-3/4".  It displays a standard vertical packaging fold at center as well as two additional vertical folds and a horizontal fold. This example has a clean front with only mild toning and soiling on back. A very attractive representative of this elusive release, with the visually unobtrusive folds accounting for its primary condition faults. Technically FR-GD, with VG/EX to EX appearance.
