Offered is a very attractive mid grade example of Chicago Cubs Hall of Famer Frank Chance from the 1909-11 T206 white borders issue. This particular copy is his yellow portrait variation and features a rare Polar Bear brand printed on the back. Out of 121 graded Polar Bear backs, there are only 7 graded EX 5 and one graded higher on the SGC pop report. Now Polar Bear is certainly not in the same league as Uzit or Drum in terms of scarcity but it is much lower in circulation compared to the ever so common Piedmont or Sweet Caporal advertising backs. This particular copy exhibits a colorful background with a clear image of Chance in his Cubs uniform. This example is far from perfect but fits neatly in the company of any other EX 5 exemplar we've seen of late. Overall a nice and relatively rare pickup for any serious vintage collection.
