Mathewson’s performance in the 1905 World Series is considered one of the most dominant in baseball history when he threw complete-game shutouts in Game 1, Game 3, and Game 5 wins over the Philadelphia A’s. The player known as The Christianian Gentleman” showed no mercy in capturing the pitching Triple Crown that same year. The third of three Mathewson cards in the T206 set, this card features the dark cap version which also includes the New York Giants logo and the team name across Mathewson's chest. Graded VG 3 by PSA.
