Next to the Honus Wagner card, the T206 Eddie Plank is the most valuable and respected card among advanced collectors of the issue. Like the Wagner, the reason behind it's scarcity has long been debated. The theory of a broken printing plate is now held to be the most widely accepted explanation for the very small amount of these cards in the hobby today. The overall eye appeal for the offered card is very strong for the given technical GAI 3 VG grade. Perfect centering surrounds a classic blue background and perfectly clear in-focus image of Plank. Corners are rounded with the four creases at the sides and upper right corner not breaking thru the color on the front surface. The front is fairly clean overall with the Sweet Caporal 350 back having some areas of light soiling. A very respectable example of one of the true hobby rarities.
