Eye appealing VG SGC 40 1907 American League Champion Detroit Tigers F. P. Burke team postcard featuring an image of a large Tiger in the background and a very young Ty Cobb directly front and center. All the players are pictured with crystal clear images and identified with their names printed right on the card below. Cobb was just starting out on his record breaking 24 year career with 2007 his first season playing every day and racking up over 200 hits. Also pictured are fellow Hall of Famers Sam Crawford and Hughie Jennings. Detroit won 92 games to take their first American League title before being swept by the powerhouse Chicago Cubs in the World Series 4-0 with one tie. Postcard is unused with corner wear and a small diagonal crease at the lower right corner. Only a handful of these have made their way into the hobby with the offered card being one of the finest examples.
