Cap Anson, the premier player of the 19th Century, appears in remarkable clarity on this Old Judge Cabinet. With Chicago of the National League Anson had a lifetime batting average of .334 over 22 seasons as a player and a winning percentage of .575 during 20 years as a manager. From 1871-75 he batted .352 over five seasons in the National Association. The outstanding image quality offered by this piece is only slightly affected by a few scattered spots of discoloration. The mount shows little wear outside of a small area of paper loss to the upper right corner. A key piece to any advanced 19th Century collection.
