Number one on the list is New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. During warm-ups OBJ wows the crowd by nonchalantly snatching passes with one hand as if he's playing Nerf football, yawning between reps. When the game begins, the guy is virtually unstoppable, leaving defensive backs in the dust and making the spectacular look like a picnic.
Presented here is a pair of Beckham's game worn cleats from his outstanding Offensive Rookie of the Year campaign when the LSU product broke out and became a superstar. In fact, OBJ sported these puppies Nov. 30 in Jackonville, the game right after his Thanksgiving circus catch against the Cowboys on national TV went viral. On this day, OBJ caught nine balls for 90 yards as the G-Men fell by one point to the Jaguars, 25-24, on a last-second Josh Scobee field goal. For his rookie season, Beckham had 91 receptions for 1,305 yards and 12 TD's--incredible stats for any season, especially when you consider he played in just 12 games after missing the first four weeks due to a hamstring injury.
The gray Nike Flyware cleats with blue and red Giants themed colors are properly tagged on the interior with OBJ's size 11.5 and "SEASON SU14 PROMO SAMPLE" labels. They show a ton of game use with grass/turf remnants from EverBank Field still stuck to the bottoms, along with other scuffing and contact marks on the blue Swoosh logos. Beckham has signed and inscribed the exterior of each shoe in black marker with “2014 Game Used Rookie Season” and “GU 11-30 vs Jags 7 Rec 90 Yards.”
